As a native Southwest Floridian, I have been fishing the waters of the 10,000 Islands and Everglades National Park my entire life. Growing up on Marco Island allowed me to spend my youth unlocking the mystery of the mangrove estuaries.
After graduating from the University of Central Florida with a major in finance, I spent several years plying my trade in the investment world as a financial advisor. A desk job just didn’t seem to be my calling and I decided to turn my passion for the water into a labor of love and embark on a career as a fishing guide.
I truly enjoy fishing fly, plug, or live bait in the 10,000 Islands and Everglades National Park chasing tarpon, redfish, and snook. My intent is to be versatile enough to handle every fishing situation. I pride myself on being patient and courteous with anglers of all skill levels. Whether poling a shallow cove searching for the subtle roll of a tarpon or a snook lurking in the shadows or even just live baiting a grass flat for a multitude of species, I will work hard to make your fishing trip a success.
The quality of the products a guide uses speaks volumes about the quality of his services. For this reason, I fish from a 2006 Maverick HPX-V powered by a dependable Yamaha outboard. My other sponsors include Oh Boy Oberto, Dons Jigs, Quantum, Powerpole, and Orvis.
Outside of my guide service, I am a casting instructor for the Everglades Angler Fly Fishing Schools in Naples, FL. I can frequently be found speaking at different venues such as the Shallow Water Expo, fishing clubs, banquets and fishing shows and have been featured in regional and national fishing magazines and television shows. I also produce a monthly feature article for Onshore Offshore Magazine.
Besides being an avid golfer, my other passion is fishing professionally on the ESPN Redfish Cup with my partner, John Merriwether. You can follow our progress as we compete in the qualifying events around the Southeast and the year end championship.
At the end of the day, my favorite people are waiting for me at home. My wife Tammy, along with my children, Carson and Chelsey always are ready with a big hug for daddy. They are the reason that I get up early and go to work and I know how lucky I am to have such a great family. |
